How Creator links and challenges work
Creators can share either a general Creator link or a specific proposed commitment. The difference matters for attribution and payout eligibility.
General Creator links
A general Creator link sends the user into the normal commitment flow with that Creator context available. If the user completes checkout through that context, the Creator can become the user's active attribution for future eligible commitments.
- Opening a general link is not enough. Checkout must complete.
- The checkout screen should disclose the Creator attribution before the user creates the commitment.
- A later checkout through another Creator can replace the attribution prospectively.
Challenge links
A challenge link contains a proposed commitment: title, commitment text, deadline, proof requirements, and amount. It lets a Creator promote a concrete challenge instead of only sending users to the blank commitment flow.
- The proposed commitment is stored as a referral link record so it can be resolved from a clean public URL.
- The user still checks out as themselves and authorizes their own conditional commitment amount.
- The Creator may participate in upside only if the accepted commitment remains eligible under the Creator program rules.
Material changes
Creator challenge economics are tied to the proposed commitment. If the user materially changes the proposed text, proof requirements, amount, or other core terms before checkout, Commitery can treat the result as a normal commitment rather than the Creator's challenge for payout purposes.
Public sharing
- Creators are responsible for how they present Commitery links and challenge links.
- The promotion should not be misleading, coercive, spammy, or framed as betting, gambling, insurance, a prize pool, or guaranteed income.
- Creators should disclose that they may receive upside remuneration if an attributed commitment fails and is successfully charged.
