Commitery

How Commitery Creator works

Commitery Creator is a referral program. An eligible Creator may receive disclosed referral remuneration only when an attributed commitment later fails, the customer is successfully charged, and every payout condition remains satisfied.

These docs explain the product in plain language. The Creator Terms, Payment Terms, and other legal documents control if there is a conflict.

Before you join

Commitery Creator is for independent businesses in Germany that want to introduce people to Commitery or share a specific proposed commitment. It is not employment, an agency arrangement, a partnership, or a promise of income. You must be at least 18, complete the required Stripe Connect and billing setup, and comply with the Creator Terms.

  • You are responsible for your own business registration, taxes, marketing disclosures, and costs.
  • The program is currently set up for German businesses. A Stripe account or audience in another country does not by itself make a Creator eligible.
  • Commitery may decline, restrict, pause, or suspend participation where law, payment risk, fraud controls, documentation, or Stripe requirements make that necessary.

The setup steps are explained in Creator onboarding, Stripe Connect, and Creator taxes.

What the program is

A Creator can share a general Creator link or a specific challenge link. A Creator is never paid for a click, sign-up, draft, completed goal, or failed-verdict proposal. Referral remuneration can arise only from an eligible attributed commitment that has failed and whose commitment amount has actually been collected.

  • A Creator's share does not increase the commitment amount chosen by the user.
  • Creator upside is referral remuneration, not a prize, discount, refund, user reward, investment, or pooled fund.
  • Commitery is not betting, gambling, a prediction market, insurance, or a way for users to earn money by completing goals.

How attribution works

Opening a Creator link can prepare a Creator context, but it does not establish attribution by itself. Attribution is recorded only after a user successfully completes checkout through that context. The user sees the Creator attribution at checkout before creating the commitment.

  • A successful checkout through a Creator can set account-level attribution for future commitments for up to 12 months.
  • A later successful checkout through another Creator can replace the attribution prospectively. Browsing alone cannot.
  • Users can remove attribution for future commitments in account settings. Existing commitments keep their recorded terms.
  • For a challenge link, materially changing the proposed commitment can make it ineligible as that challenge referral.

Read Creator attribution and Creator links and challenges for the operational details.

When money can be earned

  • The customer creates an eligible, attributed commitment and saves a payment method. No Creator earnings exist at this point.
  • The commitment receives a final failed outcome after the product dispute process. The customer's statutory withdrawal protection must also no longer block collection.
  • Commitery successfully collects the customer's commitment amount. Only then can it record a Creator allocation using the recorded percentage or rule for that commitment.
  • The allocation remains in a risk hold of at least 30 days, then may join the next monthly payout batch if it is still eligible.

For the payout timing, risk hold, and dashboard balances, see Creator payouts.

What can stop, delay, or reverse a payout

An allocation is not guaranteed income and is not a bank payout. It can be cancelled, held, reversed, or recovered if the underlying money is not ultimately available to Commitery.

  • No allocation is payable where the commitment is completed, withdrawn, successfully disputed, refunded, not successfully charged, or disqualified.
  • A later refund, card dispute, chargeback, fraud finding, policy breach, or payment reversal can cancel an allocation even after it was shown as pending or paid out.
  • Commitery can reverse available Stripe funds, offset future payouts, or request repayment of an invalid or overpaid amount under the Creator Terms.
  • Stripe verification, account restrictions, incomplete billing data, and monthly batch timing can delay a payout.

See Creator payouts and risk and reversals.

How to promote responsibly

  • Clearly disclose that you may receive referral remuneration if an attributed commitment fails and the customer is successfully charged. Do this where the promotion is seen, not only in a profile or hidden hashtag.
  • Do not pressure, deceive, harass, or encourage people to fail. Do not make false claims about Commitery, its review, or potential earnings.
  • Do not use self-referrals, accounts you control, fake commitments, fake proof, spam, hidden redirects, unauthorized incentives, or coordinated refunds or chargebacks.
  • Do not imply that you are employed by, represent, or can decide outcomes for Commitery. Do not use Commitery branding misleadingly.

Use the examples in the Creator disclosure guide when writing captions, descriptions, or landing-page copy.

Data, documents, and programme changes

Creators receive the information needed to operate the programme, such as link, attribution, allocation, payout, and document status. They do not receive a referred user's payment method, proof files, private dispute details, or other personal data unless Commitery expressly provides it. Commitery issues payout documents for eligible monthly batches based on the billing details you provide.

See Creator payout documents for Gutschriften, correction documents, and bookkeeping records.

Commitery can change, pause, or end future Creator programme rules, countries, payout rules, or links. That does not reduce an amount that is already finally payable, unless the amount was invalid because of error, fraud, a reversal, or a legal or payment-provider requirement. The legal Creator Terms control if this guide and the terms differ.
